Robert M. Silva, Esq., the senior member and founder of the firm, has practiced law since 1966. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on June 29, 1941, Silva graduated from East Providence High School in June 1959 and then attended and graduated from Providence College in June of 1963 (Cum Laude) with an A.B. degree in political science.

In 1966 Silva graduated from Boston College with an L.L.B. degree, was admitted to the Rhode Island Bar, and became a member and partner in the firm of Moore, Virgadamo, Boyle & Lynch, Ltd., Newport, Rhode Island for ten years (1966-1976). In June 1969 Silva was elected to the Middletown Town Council, serving as President for seven years of his 15 on the Council.

Throughout his legal career and time of public service, Silva remained active in numerous organizations, serving as legal counsel to the East Providence School Department (1993-2008), as well as legal counsel to the Rhode Island State Lottery Commission (1994-2008). Silva also serves as Chairman of the Middletown Economic Advisory Committee, the former President of the Portuguese Discovery Monument Foundation. He has served on various committees on several civic and community organizations. Silva is a member of the Newport County & Rhode Island Bar Associations.
