Probate Practice
Helping Families
As probate attorneys we represent clients in the probate courts. Probate is the process of administering your estate after death and distributing assets per you Will or by Administration if no Will. As probate process and procedure may be confusing and stressful, it helps to have an experienced probate attorney to help guide you.
Each town/city in Rhode Island has its own Probate Court so having an attorney to represent you as either Executor/Administrator or heir is most helpful and saves on time and expenses.
Ancillary Probate. When the primary place of Probate is in another state; our attorney will assist you in accessing your RI assets by opening Ancillary Probate
RI Inheritance Tax. RI has an inheritance tax that needs to be filed to pay tax or obtain a lien release to release the tax from RI assets; and our attorneys have experience with RI Division of Taxation forms and process.
Elder Law. Elders and their families seek our expertise to assist them with transitions from home to assisted living or nursing home; drafting and executing Powers of Attorney, Healthcare Powers of Attorney and assist with Medicaid Applications and other related matters that specific issues to our senior clients.
